1. Website owner
In accordance with the rules applicable to information society services in Spain, the following details identify the owner of betownie.com:
Betownie is a digital project in early access designed to connect people with local places, experiences and businesses. The current website explains the project and lets people join the waitlist or express interest as a partner business.
3. Terms of use
The public website is freely accessible, except for personal areas or links protected by private tokens. Users must use the service lawfully and must not attempt to access restricted areas or interfere with its security, availability or operation.
4. Intellectual property
The website’s original copy, graphics, structure, design, code and other content belong to the owner or are used under sufficient licence or authorisation. Reproduction, distribution, modification or exploitation beyond what the law allows requires prior authorisation.
5. Third-party links and services
The website may contain links or resources provided by third parties. Betownie does not control their content, availability or policies. A link does not imply a commercial relationship, sponsorship or endorsement unless expressly stated.
6. Availability and liability
Betownie is under development and may modify, suspend or update features without notice. Reasonable security and continuity measures are applied, but uninterrupted availability or the complete absence of errors cannot be guaranteed.
7. Data protection and storage technologies

8. Applicable law
This website is governed by Spanish law and applicable European Union law. Any dispute will be submitted to the courts with jurisdiction under the mandatory rules that apply.
02 / PERSONAL DATA

Depending on how you use Betownie, we may process:
Registration data: name, email address, preferred language and city when provided.
Business data: business or project name and website or social profile when registering as a business.
Waitlist data: Betownie number, invite code, referral relationships, position and priority, email-verification status and access status.
Attribution data: the page path used to submit the form and, where present, UTM parameters and invite codes.
Technical security data: the server may process your IP address and browser identifier during a request. Anti-abuse controls retain only HMAC-pseudonymised identifiers, together with route, time bucket and number of attempts. The IP address and destination email are not stored in the rate-limit table.
Consent records: the privacy information version shown to you and, where authorised, your marketing consent and the dates it was given or withdrawn.
3. Purposes and legal bases
Manage your request
Waitlist registration, email verification, position, referrals and early access, or managing interest from a partner business.
Basis: steps taken at your request / pre-contractual measures.
Security and abuse prevention
Limit automated requests, protect forms and detect abnormal use.
Basis: legitimate interests in protecting the service and its users.
Marketing communications
Send Betownie news, launches and updates only when you tick the optional box.
Basis: consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Legal compliance
Meet legal obligations, respond to authorities and defend legal claims where necessary.
Basis: legal obligation and legitimate interests in legal defence.
4. Referrals and attribution
If you arrive through an invite link, Betownie may record which member invited you so referrals and priority can be calculated. The person who invited you does not receive your email address or other personal data; they only see the number of verified referrals and the effect on their priority.
UTM parameters, when present, are used to understand registration sources. The stored URL is limited to the page path.
5. Required data
Fields marked as required are necessary to process your request. Optional fields do not affect your ability to join the waitlist.
6. Recipients and providers
We do not sell personal data. Technical providers needed to operate the service — such as hosting, database and email providers — may process data under the appropriate safeguards. Data may also be disclosed where required by law.
The main website loads the Inter and Sora font files from Google Fonts infrastructure. Google states that requests to its Fonts API are not authenticated and that Google cookies are not sent to that API.
7. International transfers
If a required provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, Betownie will rely on a mechanism recognised by the GDPR, such as an adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards.
8. Retention
Waitlist and business requests: while the request remains active and for as long as needed to manage the launch or requested relationship, followed by any applicable legal retention period.
Marketing: until you withdraw consent.
Anti-abuse controls: rate-limit records are automatically deleted after 72 hours.
Verification and access: tokens are kept only for as long as needed or until they are replaced or deleted with the registration.
9. Your rights
You may request access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability where applicable, and withdraw marketing consent at any time by writing to hola@betownie.com. We may request reasonable information to verify your identity.
You may also lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD) if you believe the processing does not comply with applicable law.
10. Automated decisions
Betownie does not make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects. Waitlist position may change according to registration time and verified referrals, but that calculation is used only to organise early access.
11. Security
Measures include input validation, request limiting, high-entropy tokens, sensitive configuration outside the public directory and separation between access credentials and visible content.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this information when the service or processing activities change. If a change requires new consent, we will request it separately.
03 / STORAGE
Cookies policy

1. Current setup
Betownie currently does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies on the public website. Your private waitlist access link is not stored persistently in the browser.
When you choose Español or English, Betownie stores the key betownie_lang in localStorage with the value es or en. This is used only to remember the language you explicitly selected so the language screen does not appear on every visit. It is not used for analytics or tracking.
Because the public website does not currently install optional technologies that require consent, Betownie does not display an accept/reject cookie banner.
2. Technical administration cookies
The private maintenance area, used only by the site administrator, uses technical session and preview cookies for authentication and maintenance preview. They are not used to analyse visitors or deliver advertising.
3. Google Fonts
The main page requests Inter and Sora font files from Google Fonts infrastructure. Google states that requests to its Fonts API are not authenticated and that visitors do not send Google cookies to that API.
4. Invite links and UTM parameters
Invite codes and UTM parameters may appear in the URL. Betownie does not need a cookie to read them; they are added to a registration only when you voluntarily submit the form.
5. Future changes
If Betownie later adds analytics, advertising, maps, video or other technologies that require consent, they will be blocked until you can make a choice, with equivalent options to accept or reject.
6. Browser controls
You can review, block or delete cookies from your browser settings. Blocking strictly technical cookies may prevent private areas that need them from working correctly.
